Director of National Advertising Sales

The Director of National Advertising Sales will develop and implement the company's National Advertising strategic sales plan. The candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth by maintaining a competitive environment for advertisers while providing broad vertical advertising coverage. The mandate for the incumbent is to grow the revenue base in the target markets and gain a significant market share in those markets.
Requirements
- Develop and expand advertiser/ad sales partner acquisition and relationship management strategies
- Build multi-vertical national sales team office to acquire and manage key high-volume or high-margin lead generation vertical accounts
- Work with Marketing, PR and Creative to produce key sales proposals, trade show events, and marketing and other support collateral
- Negotiate contracts with larger advertisers to favorably and expeditiously close sales
- Produce weekly closed and forecasted revenue reports for senior management
- Work closely with Business Development to align requirements for lead generation ad verticals with relevant publisher properties
- Monitor performance of the platform to ensure the quality and volume of qualified leads to identify issues as well as opportunities for new lead types
- Maintain knowledge of trends within markets and industries; recognize and address sales barriers to advertiser acquisition and retention
- Develop and implement sales plans, forecasts, and budgets for all markets, and will oversee a direct sales force.
- Develop and implement all strategies to support the approved Sales/ Marketing budget and Corporate Business Plan
- Develop new business for the company.
- Develop, nurturing and reinforcing a culture of teamwork within the organization.
- Identify sales inputs required to deliver a quality product to meet the customer standards
- Direct the corporate sales and marketing strategies while managing the departments
- Direct staff to generate annual sales budget by customer and by product
- Direct and control department staff including annual review
Experience
- Bachelors degree required
- 8+ years of advertising sales experience
- 3+ years of online advertising experience
- Proven success in driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic relationships
- Solid understanding of online advertising serving and reporting systems
- Demonstrated track record of structuring and managing complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery
- Ability to solve complex issues to achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects in a complex, fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment
- Strong strategy, analytical, presentation and communication skills
- Competence in quantitative analysis and ability to provide business with logical recommendations
